Sourav is the Chief Executive Officer of Tata Steel Foundation and Chief of Corporate Social responsibility for Tata Steel, which is one of the oldest, deepest and most meaningful societal impact portfolios in the country working across more than 200 blocks of India, directly reaching more than 3 million lives a year and implementing large scale change models on core development challenges of the least reached and most silent.

He has been with the Tatas for 15 years now, and is part of the Tata Administrative Services - the flagship leadership programme of the group. He started with the group in the domain of corporate finance and subsequently, anchored the sustainability strategy work of the Tata Sustainability Group (TSG) to integrate social and environmental aspects within business models of several Tata companies. He was also responsible for setting up disaster response frameworks for the Tata group while managing post disaster relief and long term rehabilitation programmes in Uttarakhand, Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh, Nepal and other regions within and outside India. He has also worked with the Grameen Bank (Bangladesh) and other organizations in the Indian development sector before joining the Tata group and retains a fundamental belief that opportunities for the most marginalized is good for everyone.

Sourav holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from IIM Ahmedabad in 2007 and M.A. in Business Law. He loves playing any sport, understanding the history of cinema, trekking and reading a good book in his spare time.
