Completed Post Graduate Diploma in Quality Management (PGDQM) from Mahindra Institute of Quality (MIQ) Nashik in 2010.

Joined Tata Steel as Graduate Trainee – 1986 batch.

Lead Assessor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 18001 management systems Certified Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Instructor from Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance Japan in 2000.

Six Sigma Black Belt from IGE India.

Tata Business Excellence Model (based on Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award) External Assessor for the Tata group of companies. Conducted 16 external assessments of Tata group companies till date (last 8 as Team Leader).

Facilitated TPM & TQM implementation at Tata Steel with active assistance from JIPM TPM Consultants & JUSE TQM consultants of Japan. 4 plants of Tata Steel received the JIPM TPM Excellence Award in 2004.

Published a book titled “Daily Management the TQM Way: The key to success in Tata Steel” authored jointly with Prof. Yukihiro Ando of Japan. This book was awarded the “Masing Book

Prize – 2011” by International Academy of Quality (IAQ) at ANQ Vietnam in Sept. 2011.

Presented 2 technical papers in International Conferences (in USA & Japan) and published 4 technical papers in International journals on Quality Management, TPM & TQM deployment.

Worked in Industrial Engineering (10 years), Capability Development (5 years), Standard Costing (1 year) and Improvement function (20 years) at Tata Steel.

Have worked closely with TPM & TQM Gurus of Japan (Dr. N Kano, Prof. Y Ando, Mr. T Watanabe) to implement various quality management concepts at Tata Steel. Tata Steel became the first Steel company (outside Japan) in the world to win the coveted “Deming Application Prize” in 2008 and “Deming Grand Prize” in 2012.

Facilitated Tata Steel to achieve “Benchmark Leader” status in the recently concluded TBEM assessment 2022 – 2nd such company in Tata group after TCS.

Led a team of 17 senior executives from many Tata group companies (10 full-time and rest on call) who worked on the business transformation of Air India for a 6-months duration on acquisition of the erstwhile government company by Tata group. Air India was amongst the top 3 Domestic airlines on Metro-OTP (On Time Performance) for 3 consecutive months (August – October 2022). Designed 2 customized workshops – one on Business Excellence (Half-day) and other on Problem Solving (one-day) to build awareness and competencies on Excellence, Improvement orientation and fact-based decision making using statistical tools and techniques.

Conducting ~25 such workshops covering around 700 persons across functions and locations of the company.
